Founded in 2003, Nightboat Books is a nonprofit publishing company dedicated to printing original books of poetry and prose, and bringing out-of-print treasures back to life.                 Nightboat seeks to publish cherished contemporary writers, as well as emerging and previously unknown poets and authors. Part of our inspiration comes from a desire to showcase new writers whose work may be otherwise underappreciated by the mainstream. Our mission is simple: distribute and promote beautifully crafted work that resists convention and transcends boundaries—books rich with poignancy, intelligence, and risk.
